Conseslus Kipruto: Olympics champion in court for defiling 15-year-old girl

The 25-year-old athlete was accused for defiling a 15-year-old girl in his backyard of Nandi county.

According to a charge sheet seen by TrendingLeo.co.ke, the athlete committed the act on diverse dates in October.

“On diverse dates between October 20, 2020 and October 21, 2020 at Tironin Location within Nandi county intentionally and unlawfully caused his genital organ (penis) to penetrate into the genital organ of A.C, a child aged 15 years,” read part of the charge sheet.

A.C are the initials of the minor whose identity is required to be protected.

According to police reports, Kipruto cohabited with the minor on the above stated dates prompting her parents to report the matter at Mosoriot Police Station in Nandi county.

The athlete who was on the spot also over a pending child support case is reported to have gone into hiding after the parents of the minor reported the matter.

He was tracked by police officers and arrested on Wednesday, November 11 and later taken to Kapsabet Law Courts.

Appearing before Principal Magistrate D. Ocharo, Kipruto denied the charges and was granted KSh 200,000 cash bail.

Kipruto appeared via zoom after he was taken to the courts under tight security with his face concealed with a mask and hoodie.

The accused paid the cash bail and the matter was scheduled for hearing on Monday, May 10, 2021.
